Do golfers need to download an app from the App Store?
No, absolutely not. We built ScoreGolf to be entirely frictionless. Players simply open their web browser (Safari or Chrome), go to ScoreGolf.uk, and enter your event PIN. There are no app store downloads, no mandatory accounts to create, and no passwords to remember.
What happens if a player loses mobile signal on the course?
Golf courses are notorious for patchy 4G/5G coverage. Because our scorecard loads entirely into the phone's browser, the player's screen will stay active even without a signal. They can simply input the score, wait until they walk into an area with coverage, and tap 'Save'.
How does the system calculate handicaps and Stroke Index?
ScoreGolf's engine does all the heavy lifting. When an organiser assigns a player to a specific tee box, the app automatically looks up the Par and Stroke Index for that exact tee. It then calculates the player's extra shots based on their playing handicap, ensuring flawless Stableford point allocation.
Is it actually free for independent societies?
Yes. Independent golf societies can use the core live scoring platform completely free of charge. We plan to introduce a small, flat-rate subscription for official Golf Clubs that require bulk member management, CSV exports, and multi-division Medal tools.
